Blood donation camp:
The Sirhind Rotary Club organised a blood donation camp at the Rotary Bhawan on Sunday. A team of doctors from Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital collected 100 units of blood. Club president Ashok Bansal said the club would continue to serve the society.

Education seminar held:
A seminar on the significance of school education for youth was organised by Good Earth Educational Society at Silhar village on Sunday. GK Singh, IAS officer, presided over the session, while Dr Harjinder Pal Singh Walia, Director, IAS and Allied Services Training Centre, Patiala, was the guest of honour. Walia said instead of depending on the government to provide good education, parents should encourage their children to study more.

Man killed in road mishap:
Punjab National Bank Manager Manohar Lal of Urban Estate was killed when his motorcycle was hit by a speeding Swift car no PB10-CR-1913 near the locality on Monday. The victim was travelling to his office, when he was hit from behind. Manohar was taken to Gandhi Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The car driver, Ashutosh Kumar of Ludhiana, has been arrested and a case registered.
