Urmila feels flattered
By Madhur Mittal

WHILE every heroine goes blue in the face denying a sexy image, Urmila has no such problem. In fact, recently, when UK’s top men’s journal Maxim, listed her in their exclusive club of international sex symbols, she felt "honoured and thrilled". Though she admits that she Urmilawouldn’t like to be trapped in this image, she confesses she is "flattered" when people, especially her fans find her sensual or sexy. How’s that for honesty?

Beauty with brains

Sneha Sangwan is an extraordinary newcomer. She’s highly photogenic and charming in face and figure besides being a naturally talented actress. She is doing her M.Sc (Honors) in Organic Chemistry even as she signs new movies: "I aim to do my PhD too, for sure ..."

And guess who is the "hero" in her debut Hindi film? Superstar Govinda’s handsome nephew — Aryan. Titled Be-Laggam, the romance ‘n’ action thriller has been directed by Ram Lakhan Mishra (Chief Assistant to Gulzar) for producer Anil K Mehta, the renowned Ayurvedic specialist of New Delhi, under the banner of Rishi Films International.

Sensuous ‘n’ stunning Sneha has already wowed viewers by doing movies down south. Her (Telugu) release, Vichitram, is a terrific showcase of her talent and is a box office hit. But how did she get into the showbiz scene to begin with? She smiles a dazzling smile. "Well, I guess I’ve been simply lucky. I was doing a spot of modelling when I was contacted by Mr Shri Warsha and Mr Jaindyala. They’d seen some of my photos and wanted to sign me as the leading lady of their new film. So I was a filmstar overnight, imagine!"

High on hits

How a hit film can give you an incredible high is proven by the fact that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is already planning his next-project. Considering that he took over three years to make Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam after directing Khamoshi — The Musical, this is quick work, indeed!

But then, the box returns and the positive reviews of HDDCS have spurred Bhansali on. In fact, even Subhash Ghai has grandiosely (and a trifle over-optimistically) proclaimed that he will be announcing his next film on Oct 13, just two months after the release of Taal.

Twinkle’s health trip

Twinkle is so obsessed with good food, that not only are studio meals a no-no, but even Chinese or Continental take-away meals are frowned upon. In case you’re thinking that Twinkle’s turned anorectic , you’ve got another ‘think’ coming. It’s only that she’s completely off "greasy, oily stuff" and on health foods instead. So the enterprising woman carries her own bread, cucumbers, tomatoes and chutney for shoots. But what really takes the cake is that she brings her own toaster too! Now that’s what I call a ‘toast’ to healthy living.Back
