Recounting in Bahadurgarh
CHANDIGARH, Dec 20 (BOC) — Mr Justice N.L.Singhal today directed the recount of the ballots of the Bahadurgarh Assembly constituency on an election petition filed by Mr Rajpal Arya, the defeated Haryana Vikas Party candidate, who challenged the election of Mr Nafe Singh of the Indian National Lok Dal candidate to the state assembly. The petitioner had challenged the election on the grounds of legality of the process adopted for the counting and also alleged irregularities in the process.

Telecom package
NEW DELHI, Dec 20 (PTI) — Communications Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said the telecom bailout package offered to private companies in July for shifting to a new revenue-sharing system needed to be approved by the new government and not by Parliament. As per the Delhi High Court order the new government approved the package in its first Cabinet meeting, Mr Paswan said replying to a short duration discussion on the new telecom policy in the Rajya Sabha.
