CHANDIGARH, Sept 23—Evasion of central excise duty worth Rs 39 crore has been detected by the Chandigarh Commissionerate-I here. According to Mr S.S. Jha, Commissioner, Chandigarh Central Excise Commissionerate-I, the duty evasion cases had been detected against manufacturers of yarn, conduit pipes, iron steel products, auto parts, cement, fabrics and meat products.
