Mehta flouts Mayor’s directive, plays truant at meeting

74 more villages declared sensitive
Sonepat, March 11
The district administration has declared as many as 74 villages falling under the jurisdiction of six assembly segments of Sonepat district as sensitive in addition to the 46 villages already declared as most sensitive for the Lok Sabha elections on May 10 next.
Half-burnt body recovered from cremation ground
Sonepat, March 11
The Rai police are reported to have recovered the half-burnt body of a man from the cremation ground at Badhkhalsa village, about 13 km from here, yesterday and sent it for a post-mortem examination.

DUTA seeks meeting with Kalam, CJI
New Delhi, March 11
The Delhi University Teachers’ Association has intensified its agitation against the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University. As the hunger strike continued the second day opposite the VC’s office, the DUTA office-bearers have decided to meet the President of India, (Chancellor), and the Chief Justice of India, (Pro- Chancellor) to give them a white paper on the functioning of the VC, Prof Deepak Nayyar.

Agitating students at Rai school return to classroom
Sonepat, March 11
Agitating students of Class XI are reported to have turned up in their classes and resumed their studies in Motilal Nehru School of Sports at Rai, about 13 km from here, today.
The students agreed to end the boycott of their classes after negotiations between their parents and the Principal of the institution.
