Thath violence case: police move to exonerate babas

While most of the accused named in cases registered at the Police Station, Payal in connection with the incidents of violence that took place at the Thath on October 11, 2003 have been found guilty during an investigation made by the crime branch of the Punjab Police, the names of the leaders of the two factions warring for the control of the religious place have been recommended for exclusion from the FIRs. The Superintendent of Police, conducting the investigation has written to his senior to direct the SSP Khanna to present challans in connection with rest of the accused.
Suicide by middle-aged man
Jagraon, December 10
A middle-aged man allegedly committed suicide and his body was found hanging in one of the rooms of a house where he was living with his wife as a tenant.
According to information Iqbal (32), a resident of Buggipura was residing along with his wife in a rented house belonging to Ms Kulwant Kaur, in Gandhi Nagar, Jagraon. His wife is said to be school teacher in government primary school at Ramgarh village and it was her second marriage. The couple had no issue.
