Several directors of the District Cooperative Milk Union today threatened to resort to stir along with the milk producers in case the government did not reverse the order to slash their (milk producers') rates.

Councillor hurt in road mishap

Two persons, including a local councillor, were hurt in separate road accidents here in the past 24 hours.
Mr Harpal Singh Fauzi, councillor of Ward number 4, was injured seriously when
the motor cycle which he was driving, was hit by some unknown vehicle near
Jagera village, near here, last evening.

Board to streamline open school system: Member

Apprehending exploitation of the provisions of the open school mode of school education through a nexus among certain private schools and commercial academies, Mr Arvind Malhotra, a member of the Punjab School Education Board, has called upon social and educational organisations to coordinate with the board authorities in shattering unethical practices.

PAU gets food sciences and engg dept

For the integrated functioning of food processing three existing departments, namely, Processing and Food Engineering, Food Science and Technology and Foods and Nutrition have been merged and a new department "Food Science and Engineering" has been set up in the College of Agriculture.
