MLA’s kin threatening rape victim: Cong:
The Punjab Youth Congress committee president Bikramjit Singh Chaudhary today demanded resignation of the SAD MLA from Budhlada over the issue of a girl being raped in Dalewan village. Chaudhary alleged that relatives of the Budhlada legislator were threatening the victim and his family to withdraw their complaint.

Girl rescued, abductor arrested
The police today arrested Vijay Kumar of a local colony for abducting a minor girl, Krishna, studying in Class IX in a government school here, on December 10. A case under Sections 363 and 366 of the IPC was registered against Vijay. Sat Pal, father of the girl, had lodged a complaint before the police on December 11 that his daughter, who went to school, did not return home. The girl was rescued from Onkar Nagar and was admitted to a hospatal last night.

Peddler held
The police today arrested a drug peddler, Dharmender Singh, resident of Govindpura, and recovered 250 gm of intoxicant powder from him. He was nabbed during a naka near Guru Nanak Pura today, the police said. 




328 arms licences cancelled in US Nagar so far
The Uttarakhand Government has so far cancelled 328 arms licences in Udham Singh Nagar. These licences had been procured from other states in violation of the Arms Act, 1959. To a question posed by BJP MLA Adesh Chauhan, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Indira Hriyadesh said the licences were cancelled as these were registered outside the state.
