 Thieves struck at a house of an NRI located in Sarabha Ngar and decamped with gold jewellery worth over Rs 7
lakh, besides a 52-inch LCD and other valuables.

Work hit as government fails to appoint LIT Executive Officer
Ludhiana, April 23
 The Local Government Department, Punjab, has failed to appoint a new Executive Officer for the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) after Avtar Singh Azad was sent on compulsory retirement on April 11 on a charge of dereliction of duty. Senior officials have not made any temporary arrangement to deal with the day-to-day working of
        the Trust.
 
GLADA sells 11  properties for Rs 6.74 cr
Ludhiana, April 23
 The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) today realised Rs 6.74 crore from the sale of 11 commercial properties in the Dugri Urban Estate, Phase III, and Dhandari Kalan, Phase III. Shop-cum-flat (SCF) sites, shops and booths of the total 29 properties on offer were sold at a marginal premium of around 4 per cent over their total reserve price of Rs 6.47 crore.

 Two eve-teasers were arrested for culpable homicide after they attacked and injured a girl's father, who was trying to protect his daughter from being molested in the Dugri area here last evening.
