Generator sets sealed:
The district administration has sealed 91 polluting diesel generator sets and served notices on 300 violators. Additional Deputy Commissioner Parveen Kumar Thind said the National Green Tribunal, Delhi, had imposed a ban on the use of such sets in commercial areas on April 26. The ADC asked the officials to prepare action taken report by August 22 .



Petrol stations' workers looted:
Motorcycle-borne two armed miscreants looted at gunpoint Rs 17, 000 from employees of two petrol stations, Lamba Fuel Petrol Pump and Krishna Filling Station, on the Kosli-Jhajjar road, near Chhawwa village, about 37 km from Rewari, in the wee hours on Monday. The Kosli police of the district has registered a case against the miscreants.

Freedom fighter cremated: The body of veteran freedom fighter Balwant Singh (90) were consigned to the flames with state honours at Hussainpur village, near here, yesterday. While naib tehsildar Sanjiv Kumar placed a wreath on the pyre on behalf of the district administration, a police contingent fired several rounds in the air and saluted the departed soldier. Balwant Singh, who joined the Indian National Army of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, spent about seven years in a jail at Singapore.
