Man held with drugs:
A man has been held with 18 gm of narcotic powder. The police nabbed Rohit Kuymar alias Danny of Akash Colony at a naka near Rahimpur. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.

One killed in mishap:Amar Chand of Dansiwal village died when he was hit by a Wagon-R near Saila Khurd. He breathed his last on the way to the hospital. Car driver Purushottam of New Delhi has been booked under the IPC.

Trains diverted:
The Northern Railway diverted routes of six express trains due to track repair on the Yamuna bridge, near Jaghadhari, on the Ambala-Saharanpur rail section from 8am to 5pm on Sunday.

Robbers attack family:Unidentified armed robbers attacked and injured four members of a family and snatched two gold bangles, a gold chain and a gold ring near Rawalpindi police station on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road on Sunday. In another incident, four persons sustained serious injuries in a violent clash at nearby Gulabgarh village on Saturday.

Dalits protest against cops:
The workers of Dehati Mazdoor Sabha (DMS) staged a dharna outside the office of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Goindwal Sahib, 25 km from here, on Sunday. They protested against the police atrocities on Dalits in the area. Gurnam Singh Daod, state secretary of DMS, criticised the police for ill-treating the Dalits of Bhail Dhai Wala and Kot Mohammad Khan villages. They lifted the dharna when DSP Sawinder Singh Johal assured them of looking into the matter.

4 booked for rape:Four residents of Bugha village, 6 km from here, have been booked for raping a woman of the same village. The accused have been identified as Ravisher Singh, Kashmir Singh and his two sons Sarabjit Singh and Manjit Singh. Sub Inspector Paramjit Kaur of Women's Police Station said she was investigating the matter.
