Shyam Saran
to be Foreign Secretary New
Delhi, June 10
The government today announced its decision
to appoint Indian Ambassador in Nepal, Mr Shyam Saran, as the next Foreign
Secretary and Mr Saran, who spoke to The Tribune from Kathmandu, confirmed that
he got the order in the afternoon.

Mr Harnek Singh (48), a gurdwara priest living near Jyoti Swarup Sahib gurdwara Sirhind, his wife Rajinder Kaur (45), four daughters and a son jumped into Bhakra Canal near Sondha village today morning with the intention of ending their lives.
