The UPA government today displayed
its determination to go after former Defence Minister George Fernandes by
rejecting the findings of the Phukan Commission report which probed the
Tehelka expose into fictitious defence deals.

accompanying note on the Phukan Commission’s report tabled in Parliament
sought to assail the report without advancing any “coherent reasons.”

Probe
ordered into Centaur hotels deal

offensive and announced a separate probe into the contentious
disinvestment of Juhu Centaur and Airport Centaur Hotels in Mumbai by the
previous NDA government.

Asserting that his government was
willing to discuss all issues with the Opposition “with an open mind”,
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today reiterated his appeal to the National

killed in bomb blast
Srinagar, May 13
In the second such incident in the
past decade, a parcel bomb wrapped in a “box of sweets” exploded
killing three members of a family in Anantnag district of Jammu and
Kashmir, a senior police official said today.
Relatives wail on the death of Mohammad Syed, his son and daughter when a parcel bomb exploded in Beijbhara on Friday.
