Strike by Suvidha Centre staff hits residents hard

The indefinite strike which began on Monday by the 130-odd employees of the Suvidha Centre located in the city’s mini-secretariat caused considerable inconvenience
to city residents who had to visit various government People reading a note put up at Suvidha Centre announcing the strike offices to get their work done. The staff has been pressing the Punjab government for permanent appointments besides other benefits.

MC official’s salary withheld

Officials directed to maintain bitumen stock

After a BJP councillor accused Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) officials of turning a blind eye towards irregularities in the MC hot mix plant, officiating Mayor Parveen Bansal today visited the plant and directed officials to maintain a stock of at least a week for bitumen.
