Haryana govt fosters entrepreneurship in youth, says minister
Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda emphasised the state government’s efforts to educate students and promote self-employment through startups. The initiative, he said, aims to empower the youth to contribute significantly to the country’s progress.
Speaking on the occasion of Startup Day, the minister highlighted the importance of self-employment and vocational education in driving growth at the state and national levels. To achieve this, the Education Department has organised various programs under vocational education.
In Haryana, vocational education courses have been offered in 1,381 schools since 2012-13. Laboratories in 2,750 schools provide training in 15 skills, including automobile, healthcare, IT and retail. Approximately 2 to 2.5 lakh students receive vocational education alongside regular schooling.
The students also participate in industry visits to gain practical experience.
