Twenty-one child labourers were rescued from different shops in Sadar Bazar in central Delhi, the police said on Wednesday. “A rescue operation was carried out on October 8 by the tehsildar, Delhi Cantonment, in Sadar Bazar with the help of NGOs, labour department and the local police and 21 children were rescued from different shops in Sadar Bazar,” DCP (southwest) Surendra Choudhary said.

MCD seals 84 factories

New Delhi: The MCD has sealed 84 factories and disconnected the electricity supply to several industrial units across the city for violating norms, a civic body official said on Wednesday. The crackdown comes as part of a citywide effort to curb industrial pollution and regulate illegal operations in non-conforming areas, the official said.
