The Rohini zone of the Delhi MC on Saturday sealed two illegal jeans dyeing factories in Rithala and 10 unauthorised plastic godowns in Karnataka Vihar, following complaints from residents and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC).

Officials said the jeans dyeing units, located in Ward No. 23, were operating without proper licenses and using hazardous chemicals that were causing serious air and water pollution in the area. Locals had repeatedly raised concerns about health risks and environmental damage caused by the units.

In a separate operation, the general branch of the zone sealed 10 plastic godowns in Ward No. 41, Karnataka Vihar. These facilities were allegedly storing highly inflammable single-use plastics, which officials said posed a fire hazard and were the subject of long-standing complaints from residents of Karan Vihar.
