Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has an interesting argument about advertising “problematic products”: if it’s helping people stay employed, should one question why one’s association with it?

The “problematic” product in question is a pan masala whose advertisement he recently appeared in.

When a fan asked him on Facebook why he chose to appear in an ad for Kamala Pasand Pan Masala, he said: “Apologies, but if a business is doing someone some good, we shouldn’t ask ourselves why we’re associated with it,” he said in response. “Yes, I get paid for this, but it employees so many people,” he said.
