4 criminals arrested after 2 encounters in Rohtak within 24 hours

The Rohtak police nabbed four youths wanted in multiple criminal cases during two separate encounters within a span of 24 hours in the district. All four suspects sustained bullet injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre of the PGIMS, Rohtak.

The first encounter occurred in the early hours of Tuesday on the city’s outer bypass. Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted two suspects who approached the city on a motorcycle via the Gohana-Jind road.

“When the police attempted to stop them, the suspects allegedly opened fire. The police retaliated, injuring both, and subsequently took them into custody,” said the sources.

The accused have been identified as Puran and Aman. According to sources, the duo was allegedly involved in a recent shooting at a liquor shop in Meham.

The second encounter took place later in the evening near Bahu Akbarpur village. Two more youths were injured in an exchange of fire with the police. They are believed to be involved in a recent firing incident targeting a shopkeeper on Subhash Road.

As of now, the police have not released an official statement regarding the encounters.
