No more warnings, if eliminating terror requires war, so be it: Lt Vinay Narwal’s father on PM’s message
Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation on the action taken by the armed forces on Pakistan and the subsequent ceasefire, Rajesh Narwal, father of deceased Lt Vinay Narwal, expressed support for the decision. With a determined face, he said there should be no more warnings given to Pakistan.
Narwal acknowledged the irreparable loss suffered by 26 families, including his own family as Lt. Narwal was also killed in the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, but emphasised that such cowardly attacks could not go unanswered. He stressed that eliminating terrorism might require war and that, he said, would be justified.
“There is no compensation for the personal loss we have faced, but Pakistan must understand that there is no room for further warnings. Even a single bullet from their side will be considered an act of war. This is not a time of war, nor a time for terrorism — but if war is needed to eliminate terror, so be it. This time, forgiveness is not an option,” said Narwal.
After the ceasefire, PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Monday evening, shedding light on Operation Sindoor — a significant military action in which the Indian Armed Forces successfully destroyed multiple terrorist hideouts across the border in Pakistan in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack.
Rajesh Narwal welcomed the government’s and the military’s firm response to the attack.
“After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the PM addressed the nation and made it absolutely clear — those who harbour terrorism and nurture its roots, like Pakistan, have been warned. The barbaric attack claimed the lives of 26 persons, including my son. The military action that followed was justified and necessary. I support it wholeheartedly,” he said.
“A strong message has been sent to the terrorists and their masters. The backbone of terrorism has been broken. This was a well-timed and decisive operation, made possible because the government gave our military the freedom to act. Their morale was evident in the accuracy of the operation.”
