Family members and other villagers arrived at the Civil Hospital today and refused to take the youth’s body for cremation after the post-mortem examination. They alleged that the police had failed to arrest the accused despite the fact that they had stated the names of the accused in the complaint lodged with the police.

As the protesters gathered outside the Civil Hospital and blocked the road, the police reached the spot and removed the protesters from the site after about one hour. The family members later staged a dharna at the mini-secretariat stating that they would not take the body for the post-mortem until the accused were arrested by the police.
