Doctors and students of various hospitals in Kashmir on Saturday protested against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata. The incident has triggered massive protests across the country.

In Srinagar’s Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital, the routine OPD services were shut due to the protests which were held amid rainfall. The doctors and medical students carried posters, and demanded strict action against the accused.

Doctors and students from the government medical college held a protest on Saturday. “We are not doing any routine work today,” said a doctor. “We want justice for the doctors and the need of the hour is to strengthen the safety of doctors across the country.”
