Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma flagged off 10 new Mahindra Bolero Neo police vehicles here today.

Divulging details, CP Sharma said this initiative was aimed at helping people in case of an emergency. These ultra-modern vehicles would enable police to be the first responder of any crime scene/incident by reaching the spot immediately.

Sharma said this was a step forward towards effective and responsive policing in the city. To overcome major challenges in the city, it was imperative that the police force was updated as per advanced requirements in the field of investigation, science and technology.

He said these vehicles had been allocated to 10 police stations – Division No. 1 police station, Division No. 2 police station, Division No. 3 police station, Division No. 4 police station, Division No. 6 police station, Division No. 7 police station, New Baradari police station, Bhargo Camp police station, Cantonment police station and Basti Bawa Khel police station.
