Jalandhar, July 21

The Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sarabjit Singh Dhaliwal, today dismissed bail application of Punjabi actor Rana Jang Bahadur, who was arrested in Jalandhar two weeks ago following a complaint lodged against him for his derogatory remarks against Bhagwan Valmiki in a TV show.

The actor was booked under Section 439 of the CrPC, Sections 295 and 295A of the IPC and Section 3 of the SC/ ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Various SC organisations had held protests against the actor in Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and other cities.
