The gathering observed a two-minute silence and paid homage to the martyrs and vowed to follow in their footsteps. The rally was addressed by farmers as well as Sukhdev Singh Sirsa, representing Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha and Progressive Writers’ Association. Sirsa supported the farmers’ protest and termed it as the common voice of the Punjabi society. He said the movement had brought important aspects of the society forward, which would provide ideas to writers and artistes. — TNS
