Amandeep Singh, alias Ammu, who had been declared a proclaimed offender (PO) in the murder case of Congress leader Amarinder Singh, alias Ricky Dullat, was arrested yesterday.

Ammu was produced in a local court here today, which remanded him in judicial custody.

Dullat was attacked by heavily armed men on November 13, 2011. He died on the way to DMC Hospital, Ludhiana.

The police had registered a case against several persons on November 14, 2011, under Sections 302, 341, 148, 149 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.

Sangrur City SHO Manpreet Singh said Ammu was declared PO several years ago. The SHO added that the accused was arrested by the CIA Staff, Sangrur, from Dehradun in Uttarakhand.
