Ultras attack Cong HQ in Srinagar,
12 injured
Srinagar, April 23
Twelve persons were injured when militants fired three to four grenades inside the highly guarded premises of the Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters at MA Road here this afternoon. Those injured included five security personnel and six civilians, two of them photo- journalists.

Centre’s interlocutor on Kashmir N.N. Vohra today hinted at the
possibility of widening the dialogue process with separatist groups in
Jammu and Kashmir and said the third round of talks with the Hurriyat
Conference would be held in June this year.

Britain is planning measures to clamp down on those using sham marriages
and non-existent language school courses to evade immigration laws and
stay on in the country. Announcing this here, Home Secretary David
Blunkett said the measures on marriages and students had been in the

Judge excuses himself from CJ’s Bench

The crisis in the Punjab and Haryana High Court does not seem to end.
Even as three senior judges are scheduled to meet the Chief Justice of
India tomorrow to explain the reason that forced 25 judges to proceed on
mass leave, one of the protesting judges today excused himself from a
Bench headed by Chief Justice B.K. Roy.
