Pak understands gravity of the problem: Rice Describing her “extensive” talks with Pakistani leader on regional security as “satisfactory”, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Thursday said Pakistan has shown focused approach and commitment on the issue of terrorism. “Pakistani leadership is focused and very committed on the issue of terrorism,” Rice told reporters prior to her departure as she arrived here Thursday morning after visiting India.

Indian, Chinese troops to walk ‘Hand in Hand’ New Delhi, December 4
For the first time India and China will conduct a joint army exercise on the Indian soil. A 137-member strong Chinese army contingent arrived in their service aircraft at Pune this morning to take part in the drill, which begins this weekend.
Indian editions of foreign mags allowed New Delhi, December 4
The Centre has decided to allow publication of Indian editions of foreign magazines publishing news and comments on public news by Indian entities, with or without foreign investment. Publishers of such editions would be eligible for attracting 26 per cent foreign investment.

Tackling Terror BJP
offers conditional support to UPA New Delhi, December

The BJP has offered
conditional support to the UPA government in its fight against
terrorism if it “immediately suspends miscalled peace process
with Pakistan.” After two-hour deliberations, the Core Group
of the BJP formulated a 10-point charter as a precondition for
standing with the government against India, said Jaswant Singh,
Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha.
