Patiala institute revises admission criteria

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), Patiala, has decided to change its admission criteria for BE/BTech courses. The postponement of JEE (Main) 2020 has created uncertainty in the minds of prospective candidates and parents. Under the new criteria, admissions will be made on the basis of Class XII marks. The JEE (Main) score has been given weightage while breaking the tie for students having equal marks at Class XII level. Dr Gurbinder Singh, Registrar, TIET, said counselling would start from August 5 and the entire process would end by September 15. He said the new session would begin in September through online mode. The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
