Actor Sonu Sood’s special gesture on his mother’s death anniversaryOne for IAS aspirants

After working tirelessly for migrant workers and frontline warriors, Sonu Sood has now taken up a new venture. On his mother Saroj Sood’s 13th death anniversary, Sonu has come up with a scholarship programme called Prof Saroj Sood Scholarships to support IAS aspirants. Under the programme, scholarships will be available to students for online and on-campus courses.

Sonu took to Instagram on Tuesday and shared details of the programme. He wrote, “October 13; thirteen years since my mother passed away. She left behind a legacy of education. On her anniversary today, I pledge to support IAS aspirants reach their goals through Prof Saroj Sood Scholarships. Seeking blessings. Miss you maa.”

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
