In the first T20I between England and New Zealand, the home team took a strange review as the ball hit the middle of Glenn Phillips' bat. Skipper and wicket-keeper Jos Buttler appealed to the umpire, but bowler Liam Livingstone didn’t look too interested. Despite this, Buttler went on to review, but in the DRS, it was spotted that the ball hit the bat and was nowhere close to the pads.

The DRS appeal went viral on social as many laughed it off, thinking it was silly from England. New Zealand were six wickets down, and hence, it is believed that the home team was trying to take more advantage of the situation, but in the end, it went against their favour.
