The Indian Premier League 2023 is in full flow as Punjab Kings are taking on Delhi Capitals in the ongoing match 64 at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. Punjab captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and elected to field first, however, little did he know that he would regret his decision going ahead in the innings.

DC openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner got their side off to a flying start as they added 94 runs for the first wicket in just 62 deliveries. Warner carried his form from the last game and scored a brilliant 46 off 31 balls smashing five fours and two sixes in his innings.

During his innings, Warner completed 400 runs in the ongoing season and notably, it’s also the ninth time he has achieved the landmark in an IPL season. The southpaw is now level with Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli who’ve also scored 400 runs in a season nine times.

In the ongoing season, the southpaw has 430 runs from 13 innings at an average of 33.07 and a strike rate of 128.74 with five fifties to his name. Furthermore, Warner has the most number of fifties in the history of IPL having reached the landmark 60 times in his career.

The DC captain has also won the coveted Orange Cap thrice for finishing as the highest run-scorer of the tournament in the seasons 2015, 2017 and 2019 respectively.
