Led by the national president of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), Uday Bhanu Chib, the workers took part in a protest march and reached the barricades installed by the police near the CM’s house. The district police had made heavy deployments to maintain law and order.

The workers raised slogans against the BJP government and accused the BJP of stealing votes to form its government in Haryana. As the protesters tried to cross the barricades, the police resorted to using water cannons to push them back.

Uday Bhanu Chib said, “Rahul Gandhi has proven with facts how votes were stolen in Haryana. The BJP government in Haryana has rendered the youth unemployed and youngsters are being pushed into drug addiction. Due to unemployment, youth from Haryana are migrating to other countries. During the demonstration, water cannons were used and heavy police deployment was done but I want to say it clearly that the workers of the Youth Congress will not get afraid of such actions. The Youth Congress has pledged to protect the country's Constitution and democracy.”

“We must fight against the BJP, which is trying to destroy the Constitution. The BJP thinks it will form the government by stealing votes, but Rahul Gandhi has exposed their theft. Congress workers will work at the booth level to stop this theft. We will continue to protest till the BJP admits its mistake and stops such activities,” he added.

Bhanu Chib also raised questions over the appointment of Gyanesh Kumar as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and accused him of working as the PM’s personal assistant. The CEC is trying to conceal the theft and help the BJP, he alleged.

Senior vice-president of Haryana Youth Congress, Soumil Sandhu said, “The Haryana Youth Congress workers from across the state had reached to participate in the demonstration. During the Haryana Assembly elections, CM Nayab Singh Saini had said that all arrangements had been made and they were going to form the government. Here, the CM had hinted that he would form the government by conspiring to steal votes. All the Youth Congress members have pledged that under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the youth of Haryana will work to save the country's democracy.”
