10-day craft bazaar to begin today in Amritsar

A day before the commencement of the 10-day craft bazaar, the district administration announced that all arrangements have been completed to host the fair.

While reviewing the preparations for the craft bazaar here today, SDM Harpreet Singh said all preparations for the fair have been completed.

The state government in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles is holding the craft bazaar from June 30 to July 10 in the Ranjit Avenue area.

He said the objective of the fair was to promote handicrafts being prepared in different parts of the country. He said the craft market would display handicrafts made by artisans using wood, cloth, iron, stone, bamboo, jute, thread, glass etc.

The SDM said about 100 stalls would display handicraft items. Besides, parking, drinking water, food stalls and recreation activities for children such as swings would also be available at the spot. He said the craft bazaar would be supported by the Red Cross. He appealed to the people to throng the market and buy the products as per their desire and hobby.
