10 kg heroin seized, two drug peddlers arrested
The Counter Intelligence (CI) unit of the Amritsar police has busted an international narco-smuggling module being operated by foreign-based smuggler Jassa. Two India-based operatives of the module have been arrested and 10 kg heroin and Rs 1 lakh drug money seized from their possession.
Those arrested were identified as Gurpinder Singh of Indra Colony and Sajan of Chak Mishri Khan here. The police also impounded their motorcycle (PB-02-EM-2025) used for smuggling the narcotics.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said in a statement that Jassa was wanted in multiple cases under the NDPS Act and Arms Act registered at State Special Operation Cell police station here. The police action came following a tip-off about the suspects’ movement in the area.
