The Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha today released the 100th issue of ‘Punjabi Lekhak’, the annual booklet of the organisation detailing its year-round activities, during an impressive literary event at the historic Khalsa College, Amritsar.

The event was held under the chairmanship of newly appointed Director of Language Department, Punjab, Jaswant Zafar, who is also a prominent poet, Harjinder Singh Kang, an acclaimed immigrant writer, president of the Kendri Sabha, Darshan Buttar, Shusil Dosanjh and Dr Atam Randhawa. Members of the Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha introduced the ‘Punjabi Lekhak’ at the event. Office secretary Deep Devinder Singh said that the centenary issue is dedicated to the memory of Heera Singh Dard, the founder of the Sabha, and the edition contained his colourful picture. He said ‘Punjabi Lekhak’ is a source of connecting the Kendri Sabha with the literary societies of Punjab. They said such efforts are also a reason for the progress of the mother tongue and mutual dialogue.
