The Amritsar police nabbed a father-son duo carrying a Guru Granth Sahib ‘saroop’ in a suitcase at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport today.

Jwala Singh and his son Jasvir Singh were taken into custody for violating the Sikh ‘Rehat Maryada’. They were said to be associated with the Gurdwara Nanaksar Samadh Bhai sect. Both were to board a SpiceJet flight heading to New Delhi from where they were to take another flight for Pune. The police booked the duo under Section 295 of the IPC. — TNS
