On a crackdown against illicit liquor traders, the police arrested three persons and recovered 3,78,000 ml of illicit liquor from them.

The police said the city police in its raid at the residence of Heera Singh of Kakka Kandiala village recovered 3,57,750 ml of illicit liquor on Wednesday. The accused absconded from the spot.

The Harike police have arrested Harpreet Singh and Pargat Singh of the same village and recovered 13,500 ml of illicit liquor from their residences.

The Sadar police have also arrested Iqbal Singh of Pakhoke village with 6,750 ml of illicit liquor on Wednesday.

Cases under Sections 61,1 and 14 of the Excise Act have been registered against the accused.
