While giving details, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Alam Vijay Singh said three bike-borne persons cornered two minor boys at a pan shop located near MK Hotel and forcibly took them towards the Khalsa College side. They forced the victims to transfer some amount into their bank account through GPay and later snatched their scooter also. The incident occurred on Saturday, the DCP said.

He said the police after registering a complaint at the Ranjit Avenue police station initiated a probe into the matter and identified the accused subsequently leading to their arrest. They were produced in a court and brought on police remand for further investigation, the DCP said. A robbery case was registered against Rohit in Ludhiana in 2022, he said.

He further said the Chheharta police had arrested three vehicle lifters and recovered six stolen vehicles from their possession. They were identified as Prince Gill, Baljinder Singh, alias Babbu, and Rajbir Singh, all residents of Mahal village, located on Ram Tirath Road here, the DCP said.
