MLA from Baba Bakala Sahib constituency, Dalbir Singh Tong, while laying the foundation stone of a modern sports stadium to be constructed at a cost of about Rs 36 lakh at village Sathiala, said that 3,000 villages across the state will get new sports stadiums at a cost of Rs 1,100 crore. The state is due for assembly elections in 2027 and the AAP government's MLAs seem to be on an inauguration spree to initiate development works in their respective constituencies.

MLA Tong said that these sports stadiums will become a source of inspiration for the youth. "These stadiums will teach them sportsmanship, remain disciplined and stay away from drugs. The youth not only become physically strong, but also remain mentally healthy," he said. The MLA did not fail to mention Aam Admi Clinics and Schools of Eminence while talking about development during the tenure of AAP government.

He also said that a new hospital, bus stand, Anganwadi centre and Gram Panchayat building are being constructed in Baba Bakala, with an investment of more than Rs 5 crore.
