38-year-old man dies by suicide

A man of Kakka Kandiala village near the local Amritsar bypass ended life, leaving behind a note here on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Gurbhej Singh (38).

He leaves behind his wife and two daughters (aged 10 and 6 years old). Their married life was full of stress. Being under mental stress, the victim consumed some poisonous substance and was rushed to the local Civil Hospital in a serious condition, where he died.

Gursharan Singh, brother of the victim, in his statement recorded with the police stated that Gurbhej Singh was being mentally tortured by his wife and in-laws.

The police, on the basis of the suicidal note and the statement of the victim’s brother, have registered a case under Section 108 of the BNS against his wife Sandeep Kaur, her father Gurmeet Singh, mother Sarabjit Kaur, brother Jobanjit Singh, sisters Rajbir Kaur and Gurpreet Kaur.
