The Khalra police and the Valtoha police arrested four drug peddlers (two each) from different places from their respective areas with 1.971 kg of heroin on late Wednesday evening.

SSP Ashwani Kapur in a press conference convened at his office here on Thursday shared information in this regard. The SSP said the Khalra police led by Inspector Satpal Singh, SHO, on a naka installed at Theh Klan village arrested two with 990 grams of heroin.

The drug peddlers have been identified as Varinder Singh Gabbar, a resident of Bhura Kohna, and Gurjant Singh Janta of Ramuwala in Tarn Taran district. The accused were on a motorcycle without registration number. The accused have been booked under Sections 21-C, 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act and Sections 10, 11 and 12 of the Aircraft Act by the Khalra police.

The SSP further informed that the Valtoha police led by ASI Avtar Singh from the crossing of Assal Uttar village recovered 981 grams of heroin from the possession of Amandeep Singh, a resident of Rajasansi, and Vishal Singh of Loharka village. Rajasansi and Loharka fall under Amritsar district.

The drug peddlers were in a Brezza car with no registration number. The drug peddlers have been booked under Sections 21-C, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.
