SHO Sub-Inspector Amreek Singh said the packet contained 478 grams of heroin and 80 grams of packing material. The police registered a case under Sections of 21-C, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act and Sections 10, 11 and 12 of the Aircraft Act.

In another case, two motorcycle-borne persons, identified as Mandeep Singh Mani of Tarsikka and Pawandeep Singh Lala of Jandiala Guru, were arrested with 80 grams of heroin by the Verowal police. A police party headed by ASI Bikkar Singh arrested the accused from the bus stop at Bodal Kiri. The accused have been booked under Sections 21-C, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.
