The Amritsar police have apprehended eight suspects linked to UK-based handler Dharma Sandhu.

The operation led to the seizure of 4.5 kg heroin, two Glock pistols (9mm), two 30 bore pistols, a 32 bore pistol, a Zigana pistol (30 bore), 16 live cartridges and Rs 1.5 lakh in drug money.

An FIR been registered under the NDPS Acts and the Arms Act and the investigation to establish the backward and forward linkages is underway.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
