The district administration in collaboration with Pehal Resource Centre, Karampura, organised a special assessment camp to select and provide artificial limbs and assistive devices to visually impaired and elderly people with the help of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).

Kanwaljit Singh, District Education Officer, Amritsar, who was present on the occasion, said the district administration had organized a special assessment camp to provide assistive devices to disabled schoolchildren and elderly people, in which about 98 beneficiaries from different categories were listed.

“The district administration will organize a total of six camps in the district with the support of Alimco, which started on Friday. Kanwaljit said during the camp, the names of the beneficiaries were made online to provide goods, such as battery-based tricycles, calipers, hearing aids, wheel chairs, visual kits, tricycles, TLM kits, rollators, etc.
