Students of Guru Amar Dass Adarsh Institute, Goindwal Sahib, claimed the second position at district-level chess competition.

The students, Gurleen Kaur (Class VIII), Yoshita (Class IX), Taranpreet Kaur (Class IX), Kawashdeep Kaur (Class X) and Yashvi Chopra (Class XI), under the guidance of coaches Sukhwinder Singh and Rajbir Kaur participated in the under-17 category. The winners will now participate in the state-level games. District Sports Co-ordinator Jugraj Singh and Maninder Singh said the players are being trained by experts.

Guru Amar Dass Adarsh Institute Director Dr Jatinderpal Singh Randhawa and Principal Manisha Sood congratulated the students and encouraged them to work hard in the future.
