Amritsar: 3 nabbed with sedative pills

Amritsar: The rural police have nabbed three persons and recovered sedative pills from their possession. They have been identified as Pawan Kumar and Raghubir Singh of Meerakot village and Sikanderpal Singh of Muradpura village. The police said they were found in possession of 1,100 intoxicating tablets. Two separate cases under the NDPS Act were registered against them while further investigations were under progress. During patrolling, the police recovered 260 intoxicating tablets from Raghubir Singh and 240 tablets from Pawan Kumar. They were arrested from Meerakot village. Similarly, 600 intoxicating tablets were seized from Sikanderpal Singh. TNS

Eight arrested with drugs

Amritsar: The city police have arrested eight persons, including a woman, for allegedly possessing 149-gm heroin. They were identified as Sikander Singh of Gaggobua village, Tarn Taran, Bobby of Faizpura, Sandeep Singh of Mustafabad, Nisha of Housing Board Colony, Jaspal Singh of Vallah, Sunny of Baba Deep Singh Colony, Deepak Singh of Peeda Bazaar and Kuldeep Singh of Maqboolpura. The police recovered 50-gm heroin from Sikander, while 20 gm each was seized from Bobby and Sandeep Singh. Similarly, 15-gm heroin was recovered from Nisha and Jaspal Singh each. Sunny and Deepak were found having 10-gm heroin each, while Kuldeep Singh was arrested with 9-gm heroin. Six held with 192-gm heroin

Tarn Taran: The police arrested six persons with 192-gm heroin on Wednesday. The Goindwal Sahib police arrested Manpreet Singh and Kashmir Singh, residents of Kang village, with 76-gm heroin. The Chohla Sahib police led by Inspector Baljit Singh arrested two persons and recovered 20-gm heroin from their possession. The accused have been identified as Rajbir Singh and Ajay Billa of Tarn Taran town. The accused were on a motorcycle, which too has been seized. The city police arrested Swaraj of Tarn Taran with 50-gm heroin and the Patti city police arrested Jaspal Singh of Patti town with 46-gm heroin.
