Expressing pride in her achievement, she added, “While I feel proud of this recognition, it has also increased my responsibility towards the school, the Education Department and most importantly, my students. I remain committed to fulfilling this responsibility with honesty and dedication.”

A native of Moga, Kulwinderjit Kaur followed in the footsteps of her father, who was a Punjabi teacher. After completing her primary education, she pursued postgraduate degrees in history, Punjabi, religious studies and education. Her husband, Sarabjit Singh, is also a government school teacher. She began her career as an ETT (Elementary Teacher Training) educator at the Government Elementary School, Chabba. Over the years, she has earned several accolades at both the district and state levels, including the Best Teacher Award (district-level) in 2015.

In addition to her academic achievements, she is a state-level kho-kho and badminton player. She won a gold medal in the Punjab School Games last year, securing first position in the state.

A strong advocate for modern teaching methods, Kulwinderjit has extensively incorporated technology into classroom instruction. She uses colourful charts, interactive presentations and visual aids to make complex concepts easier for children to grasp. Her teaching methods are regularly shared on social media platforms, where she posts lessons and educational videos for students.

An accomplished calligrapher, she also teaches Punjabi calligraphy to her students, for which she has been honoured by both the Language Department of Punjab and the International Forum, UK.

She said, “Teachers, especially in government schools, have a significant responsibility. Many children from underprivileged backgrounds rely on us to help them build a better future. I want to continue contributing meaningfully to help them reach their goals.”
