Those arrested have been identified as Mahesh alias Ashu Masih and Angrej Singh, both of Marhimegha village in Tarn Taran, and Arshdeep Singh of Bhikhiwind in the same district. The haul included three 9mm pistols and five .30-bore pistols, along with magazines. The police also impounded a Hero Splendor motorcycle allegedly used by for transporting drugs.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said on Saturday that preliminary investigations revealed the accused were acting on the directions of a Pakistan-based arms smuggler who had been using drones to drop consignments across the border.
