Amritsar: The postgraduate department of commerce and business administration, Khalsa College, in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv, organised an orientation program for students of the commerce streams on ‘decoding the career success path’. Kanwaljit Singh, lead trainer, certificate programme in banking, finance and insurance (CPBFI), Bajaj Finserv, was the resource person. He informed the students about the diverse job opportunities available in the fields of investment, banking and accounts management. He advised the students to develop traits such as positive attitude, good communication and workplace ethics. Principal Mehal Singh said the objective of the programme was to acquaint the students with the myriad career opportunities available. More than a 100 students from the commerce department participated in the event and gained knowledge about the skills required to improve their career prospects.

An orientation session on mental health and wellbeing was organised at DAV College, Amritsar, under the aegis of centre of excellence for the science of happiness. Principal Amardeep Gupta took the initiative of establishing the centre on campus to address mental health issues of the students. Dr Amardeep defined mental health and explained the methods of monitoring it. He also discussed extreme high and low emotions, sleep problems, body distortion, hormonal problems, hopelessness and helplessness, depression, anxiety disorder and other significant issues at length in the session.
